Adèle Exarchopoulos is a French actress with partially Greek roots (her grandfather was Greek). She was born in Paris, France. Her mother, Marina (Niquet), is a nurse, and her father, Didier Exarchopoulos, is a guitarist. At the age of 9 she started acting and watching movies. As she said on the French newspaper L’Express, she started taking acting lessons because she likes disguising. At the age of 12 she made her first role on the movie Boxes, and a year after she had a role in the movie Les enfants de Timpelbach (2008) acting as Marianne. She then starred in the movie The Round Up (2010).

Her performance in the movie Blue Is the Warmest Colour (2013) received the Palme d’Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.
