Aylin Tezel is a German actress known for Almanya – Welcome to Germany (Berlinale Competition 2011) and Breaking Horizons (2012) for which she received the Best Actress Award at the Torino Film Festival and the German Actors’ Award. Most recently she has filmed the thriller 7500 alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
On television she is known for her series lead regular role as young cop Nora Dalay in Germany’s most popular police drama Tatort and for her regular role in the 3rd season of the Canadian CBC Spy-Series X Company (2017) which is set in the Second World War. Aylin played Jewish Polish resistance fighter Zosia, alongside Warren Brown (Strike Back) and Evelyne Brochu (Orphan Black).
She was seen as lead role Heidi in Marco Kreuzpaintner’s (Beat) film Coming In for Warner Bros . She has also filmed the lead role of Sabine in Robert Manson’s forthcoming debut feature film Lost in the Living alongside Irish actor Tadhg Murphy (Vikings).
Besides Acting Aylin Tezel directed the documentary Trust me it works about the British choreographer Royston Maldoom as well as the short film Inhale, which premiered at Cork Film Festival and aired on German- French TV Channel ARTE. She just directed the short film Phoenix with Killian Scott (Damnation) and Brid Brennan (Brooklyn) in the leading roles.
