Tasneem Roc was born in Sydney, Australia to Australian author Margaret Roc and lecturer John Roc. She has a younger brother, James Roc. She began her acting career as Thania Saya on popular television series Heartbreak High. She later appeared as Skye Quinn in ABC drama Headstart.
Tasneem relocated to the UK, and appeared in Sky TV series Dream Team as professional tennis player Shannon Eden-Childs. She later appeared as seductive people-smuggler Suzy Sudiro on Home and Away, and in the supernatural comedy Spirited as schoolteacher Viola Take. Her role of protective wife and mother Amina Malik in acclaimed drama miniseries East West 101 was reprised over three seasons. Tasneem received commendations for her guest role on ABC law drama Crownies as victim of crime Tina Chang.
Most recently Tasneem has been filming on Australia’s Gold Coast and Far North Queensland as pragmatic nurse practitioner Olivia Shaw in the new Jonathan Shiff production Reef Doctors, working with Lisa McCune, Rohan Nicols, Richard Brancatisano, Rod Mullinar, Matt Day, Andrew Ryan, Susan Hoeke, Kristoff Piechocki, Chloe Bayliss and Justin Holborow.
Recently Tasneem and the cast members of East West 101 (season 3) were voted the winners of the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series Award by the members of Actors Equity Australia. (2012)
Tasneem graduated from the University of Sydney with a double major in English and Art History.
