Laura Gómez started her journey as an actor in Santo Domingo and trained professionally in NYC where she’s been living for over 13 years.
She plays the role of Blanca Flores in the Netflix hit show “Orange is the New Black” and she’s a member of Spanish Repertory Theater, where she has participated in critically acclaimed plays, like “Doña Flor and her Two Husbands” and “The House of the Spirits,” adapted by Obie Award playwright Caridad Svich.
She’s an established Voice Over artist -official announcer of the brands Covergirl and Suave Professionals- and has provided her voice for the audio books “Of How the Garcia Girls Lost their Accent” by Julia Alvarez and “The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao” by Junot Díaz.
In 2011, Laura was a recipient of the IX Screenwriting Developing Grant from the Carolina Foundation in Spain.
Laura has starred in several short films, including “To Kill a Roach” -winner of the NYU 2012 Technisphere Award for Outstanding Achievement- and Hallelujah, both of which she also wrote, produced and directed.
