Ben Tavassoli was born in Brighton, England. When Ben was around 10 years old, he and his family moved to South East London, where he would attend secondary school and college.
Initially, Ben was pursuing a career in music as the lead singer and guitarist of a band. However, after deciding to take part in a play at university, where he was studying Sport Science, he was encouraged to go on and apply for drama school. He was offered a scholarship at Central School of Speech of Drama on his first attempt.
Within days of him graduating drama school, Ben was picked up by Channel 4 for Paul Abbott’s new drama, No Offence (2015). He then went on to star in Fox series Tyrant (2014), BBC One show Silent Witness (1996) and feature film Tomorrow (2018), produced by Martin Scorcese. Not long after, Ben found out he would be playing the lead role of Rash in new BBC One drama New Blood (2016), written by Anthony Horowitz.
Since then he has starred as in the lead in feature film The Pages (2018), alongside Jamie Lee Curtis, and played the role of Nez in JJ Abraham’s Overlord (2018).
