Josefin Asplund is a Swedish actress, born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. She is of Swedish and Polish descent. Asplund is mostly known for playing Astrid on the History Channel series Vikings and Pernilla Blomkvist in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011). She plays one of the lead roles in the film adaptation (2015) of the best selling Swedish novel The Circle.
Asplund attended Sodra Latins Gymnasium (Southern Latin secondary school) from 2007 – 2010 in Stockholm, Sweden. She also took lessons at Calle Flygares Teaterskola (stage school) in 2009.
