Katherine Ramdeen is a Canadian actress, born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, and a middle child of four. She is best-known for her performance as Alex Jones on The CW’s long-running hit TV series Supernatural and it’s shelved spin-off Wayward Sisters, reviving her character Alex. Alex, a former blood-slave suffering from slight Vampiric Stockholm Syndrome, is haunted by her traumatic childhood, but Alex a survivor and doesn’t let her past get in the way of making herself a better future. Coming from a family uninvolved professionally in the arts, Katherine always admired the ability actors have to transport an audience into their own worlds, and is drawn to roles portraying characters who have suffered a great tragedy and are battling inner demons.
Classically trained, Ramdeen moved to Vancouver, BC to pursue an acting career after acceptance in the prestigious Theatre Conservatory Studio 58. After earning the Beta Sigma Phi scholarship for excellence in her program, Ramdeen was in the program for two years. However, it wasn’t long after when Ramdeen signed with a top Vancouver agency and agent who immediately recognized her potential. Proving that point, Ramdeen booked her very first audition where she would work with the critically acclaimed writer/director Pascal Laugier and share screen time with superstars Jessica Biel, Jodelle Ferland and Samantha Ferris in the award-winning film, The Tall Man. Ramdeen has since garnered numerous roles in film and television.
Vegan, feminist and animal rights activist, Ramdeen enjoys spending time with her rescue pup Hondjie (pronounced “Hoinky” Afrikaans for “little dog”), practicing Aerial Yoga and Brazilian Jujitsu, as well as studying mathematics and coding in her free time. Katherine follows a Zen Buddhist philosophy and is a student of meditation. She also has fun as a streamer on the popular streaming site Twitch, where she formed Nibiru; an all-female competitive video game team for the e-sport DOTA 2.
Katherine has written numerous shorts and would like to continue writing for projects in entertainment, walking along similar lines to one of her inspirations, Jodie Foster, with whom she hopes to work with one day.
