As a Los Angeles-based Writer/Producer at Fox Networks, Mia Produced/Directed promotional content and campaigns for series launches and in-season content. Experience includes series such as Glee, Scream Queens, Gracepoint, The Mindy Project, New Girl, Raising Hope and The Following. As a freelance Director, Mia has directed several short films and music videos, including Keke Palmer’s debut single for Island Records “I Don’t Belong to You.” Prior to working at Fox, she was a Producer at Showtime Networks for promotional content of series/theatricals including Dexter, Homeland, Californication, Weeds, House of Lies, Shameless, The Borgias, The Twilight Saga, Nurse Jackie, United States of Tara, The Real L Word, Web Therapy, The Franchise, Gigolos, The Green Room, and various other series and documentaries. She also works red carpet events/press for Showtime Networks.
While attending New York University’s Steinhardt School for Media Studies and Television Production, she worked at various networks including ABC, NBC and USA Network. She also worked for several years at White Cherry Entertainment in production for several national, live-televised events.
Mia has worked for television programs including Saturday Night Live, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, The Tony Awards, The Daytime Emmy Awards, The Superbowl, The Thanksgiving Day Parade, The NFL Kickoff,The Tony Danza Show, Nashville Star and One Life to Live.
With co-founder Dan Bricker, she started a Film Production company called Effin Media in 2009, which sent a couple of films to festival including co-written and self-directed film “A (Not So) Civil Union,” a short mockumentary about the first legalized lesbian wedding, and Somewhere Between, a German/English short psycho-thriller she produced with director Finn Pfeffer. Mia has also volunteered at The Tribeca Film Festival.
On the side, Mia is a rock and roll bassist/vocalist. She started the alt-punk garage rock band Shoot the Freak in 2009 with Garrett Cillo, Alberto Duhau & Devon Johnson. When Shoot the Freak broke up in early 2012, she started Guns n’ Hoses, an all-girl GNR tribute band with Charlene Kaye, Erin Marsz, Emmy Wildwood and Gina Ilasi. She was lead vocalist in the rock band Mad Moon Riot with band mates Matt Hitchens, Ru Hazell and Pou Piam until March 2015 when she departed, due to her work schedule.
