Ms. White is also a singer/songwriter and licenses her music for film and television independently and through licensing company True Music owned by Kurt Farquhar. As a series regular on Season 2 of Reed Between the Lines she sang on the title song and had her original song Breaking the Cycle air on the 6th episode. Her music has been on multiple TV shows including The Quad for BET 2018 where she appeared live, sang her licensed song Game Over and now has a recurring role named, “Michole.” She was also a featured vocalist on the 2011 Daytime Emmy Awards honoring Pat Sajack and Alex Tribek.
Ms. White starred in the film and TV series The Strange Eyes of Dr. Myes which won the 2017 Gotham Award for Best Series-Short Form. She is now co-creating/co-writing and producing a half hour TV show with The Strange Eyes director and writer Nancy Andrews scheduled to be shot 2018. She also has a recurring role on the show Vital Signs starring Dr. Dre coming soon.
Not only a seasoned vet to the world of film, television and commercials, Ms. White also thrives in the theatre where she was trained. Her theatrical credits include the original Off Broadway production of Jitney working directly with August Wilson, the premiere of Susan Lori-Parks Fucking A at The Public Theatre in NY, Radio Golf directed by Kenny Leon, August Wilson’s 20th Century Plays at The Kennedy Center and recently playing the iconic Lena Horne in When Jazz Had the Blues at The Matrix Theatre Hollywood, which garnered her extraordinary reviews. She also starred in the play Public Enemy Flint performed in Flint Michigan; An adaptation that breaks the fourth wall, written and directed by Purni Morell, to create a platform for the community to voice concerns of their contaminated water (2017). She has been nominated and won a multitude of theatrical awards including the Obie, Ovation, NAACP, Audelco and Drama Critics Circle.
