Muzamil, born Aug 25th 1986 in Jammu and Kashmir, was introduced by Mahesh Bhatt as a main lead in the movie Dhokha, which won him lot of critical acclaim. He debuted in his film at the age of 21, in the year 2007. Muzamil was latter nominated and awarded for his role in the “Best Debutant Category” for awards like Filmare,IIFA,Zee Awards, Star Tv Awards etc.
Muzamil was in the 1st year of his Engineering degree in Jammia Millia Islamia College when won the Gladrags Manhunt contest in 2003, at the age of 18, becoming the yongest Gladrags Manhunt Title winner in it’s history. He had to discontinue his studies later owing to his successful career as a model, and debuting in films by the 4th year of his college. As a child, Muzamil won the Presidents Bravery Award; Rashtrapati Award for bravery (Hindi: Jeevan Raksha Padak) on Indians Republic Day parade from the President of India for saving the life of his fellow student from drowning when he was only in his 3rd standard. Since Muzamil was the first kid in the history of the state of Jammu and Kashmir to have received such an honor he was latter awarded a “Jeevan Raksha Padak” miniature medal by the state of Jammu of Kashmir. Muzamil also won the Godfrey Phillips National Bravery Award in the year 2008 for saving the life of an old British lady from drowning in the Arabian Sea.
Muzamil is one of the most popular Male Models in India, having endorsed some of the most prestigious brands Nationally and Internationally. He has also won several Fashion Awards over the years like GQ best male model, Times top model etc, FTv, MTv etc etc. He has also featured in several top music videos as a model, including Academy and Grammy award winner A.R Rahaman’s.
Muzammil is the younger of his 3 siblings, Nafisa, Muddasar and Anisa.
He pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering but left it in the very first year after winning Gladrags Manhunt at the age of 18.
